Candle Care Instructions

Candle Care
- As a general rule, burn your candle for around 3-4 hours at a time
- Before lighting your candle, place it on a heat resistant surface
- Keep the candle wick trimmed to ¼ inch before lighting your candle each time – this step avoids carbon build up
- A “Candle Snuffer” will extinguish the flame. Never extinguish your lit candle with water.
- Discontinue use of your candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains
- Keep your lit candle away from draughts when in use
Lighting Your Candle
The first time lighting your candle, allow your candle to burn until it reaches a full melt pool (wax melted to the edges of your jar)
What does this mean?
Your candle will have a memory – meaning that each time your candle burns your candle will last longer and prevent it from tunnelling
Container | Jar Candles
- Do not burn your candle in a container that is chipped or cracked
- When your candle reaches about ½ inch of remaining wax – discontinue burning candle. (Candles need a good pool of wax around them to burn properly)
- If the flame touches the sides of container, this may cause a container to crack
- Containers become HOT when lit; always and handle with care

Scented Candle Melts
- A tart warmer or oil burner is used for your candle melts
- Place 1 to 2 cubes in the top section of your tart warmer/oil burner before lighting the tea light candle
- Keep away from pets and children
- Place your tart warmer or oil burner on a heat-resistant level surface before use
Why does my candle look crystalised | frosted?
Soy Wax is a natural substance that has its own characteristics.
Natural wax can often produce a frosted look called “fat bloom” and can be noticeable in dyed candles (coloured wax)
Much like chocolate, soy wax reacts when warmed or cooled. As such, this is a natural characteristic and should not be considered a flaw. Therefore, signs of frost on a candle surface ensures the candle is 100% pure soy wax.
At times, variances in temperatures (extreme heat/humidity), can affect the look of your candle, by producing the frosting look. However, rest assured that there is no effect whatsoever to the quality and burning of your candle.
How to Store your Candle?
Always store your candle in a cool, dark and dry place. So, avoid direct sunlight or extreme heat as this may result in your candle melting.
